Jack Deremiah, President
Jack has had a love of theatre since his days as a thespian at Monticello High School in the late 1970s. As an adult, he has been involved in community theatre across the country and as far away as Japan. Jack has also written three of the plays performed by the MTA. He has been a board member of the MTA since 2007 and was first elected President of the organization in 2009. Jack and the rest of the board are currently working with the City of Monticello to fulfill the organization's long-time goal of getting a new theatre building. |

Lana Ross, Treasurer
Lana is a long-time member of the Monticello Theatre Association. She appeared in "Tunnel of Love", the first play the MTA presented. It was performed at the Community Building in 1976 and Lana remembers the fun the actors had trying to beat the whistle which went off at 10:00 p.m. Action had to stop if you didn't complete the play before it blew; you just froze on stage until it ended. Her favorite roles include Mary in "Mary, Mary" and Betty Meeks in "The Foreigner". Lana also remembers the sad day she went out to the Camp Creek Playhouse to find it still smoldering from the fire which destroyed it in 1999. She is confined to directing and producing plays nowadays, since there are very few roles for 60 year ingenues. Lana has served the MTA is several offices, and is currently the treasurer. |
