Adapted for children's theatre, this classic tale follows a group of barnyard animals who, being cast off by their human masters for being too old to do their jobs any longer, band together and head off to the town of Bremen to become musicians. Along the way they come across a band of thieves in their hideout and challenge them for both their loot and their hideout. Acted with over-the-top charm by local students, this play was performed for local children at Monticello's May Market celebration in the lobby of the First Mid-Illinois Bank. All performances were free of charge and local children, parents and grandparents really enjoyed the comedy and music. Once again, the MTA provided a service for our community that no other organization is able to offer.
