For the sesquicentenial (150th year celebration) of the town of Bement, IL, the MTA came up with an original, historically accurate, one-act play set at the newly constructed train depot in Bement, circa 1850. The play centered around the arrival of a newspaper reporter prior to the historic Lincoln-Douglas debates. The reporter questioned townpeople as to the history and events surrounding Bement's founding and their feelings about both Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Douglas. The play ended with the actors stepping out of character to catalog significant events in Bement from 1850 to the present day. To cap off the production, the entire cast was joined by local musicians to lead the crowd in song with an original song composed by an MTA member; The Old Bement Waltz.
